Winter 1

Winter 1

Various forest photos, including a toadstool (representing Shamanic Santa) , a yew tree (representing winter, and its symbolic death and rebirth), graffitti (representing modern culture and the urban environment), a piece of iron railing from a graveyard (representing death and rebirth again), and red berries (representing the colour and continuing bounty provided by Nature throughout the winter).

This is one exploration of Yule and its connections, and more will follow.

The happy colours are also those of the Ethiopian flag, as honoured by many Rastafarians.

(As a bonus link, this article neatly ties together Santa Claus and at least one well known aspect of Rastafariani movement).
